Spring 2025 Concert

Baritone Jeffrey Martin is garnering attention as a formidable voice of the region. He appears regularly on the concert stage as a soloist, most recently in Fauré’s Requiem, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and Bach’s Mass in B Minor. Jeffrey honed his oratorio skills performing as bass soloist in Mozart’s “Great” Mass in C Minor and Requiem Mass and Verdi’s Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezin among other guest soloist engagements around the country. Most notably he sang the role of Jesus in a staged version of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the University of Minnesota in Collaboration with the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Detmold, Germany in both locales. Jeffrey was also engaged for multiple seasons as a Festival Singer in Sherrill Milnes’ Savannah Voice Festival. 

Jeffrey has performed the roles Leporello (Don Giovanni) with Peabody at Lyric Opera Baltimore, Raimondo (Lucia do Lammermoor) with La Musica Lirica, Escamillo (Carmen), Rev. Blitch (Susannah), Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) and The Man with the Cornet Case/Puppet-master from Argento’s Postcard from Morocco of which The Baltimore Sun said: “Jeffrey Martin brings solid tone and exemplary diction…”

Jeffrey holds a Doctorate from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Music from The Peabody Conservatory of Music of The John’s Hopkins University. He enjoys his position as Director of Vocal Studies in the Music, Worship, and Performing Arts department at Lancaster Bible College. When he isn’t teaching or performing, Jeffrey enjoys spending his time with his wife and two young children. 

native of Iowa has a storied opera career. She completed her undergraduate degree from Eastman School of Music and performed this Elijah role with the Rochester Symphony. She then did a two-year apprenticeship with Houston Grand Opera and University of Houston. 

In addition to working with opera companies and orchestras, Ms. Bowers has raised funds for charities and particpated in educational outreach. One treasured experience was singing for Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa. Singing as Gwendolyn Lentz she made her New York debut with the New York Philharmonic at Licoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

Her European debuts were made singing the title role of Carmen in Geneva, Lisbon and Paris.As a follower of Jesus and a person who seeks to “love her neighbor as herself,” her generosity to a stranded traveller presented her the opportunity to perform recitals in Perth, Australia. Another act of kindness for a local charity took her to Japan for 17 days of concerts!

a well-known tenor from the Lancaster, PA area who is best known for his sacred, classical, and patriotic solo concerts, as well as his choral & opera performances. Trained by John Darrenkamp from the Metropolitan Opera, Brenten is actively performing in several east coast states in various ensembles, operas, musicals, church services, and choral productions, including choral performances in Ireland and China. Brenten has earned two Bachelor Degrees from Lancaster Bible College and two Master of Music Degrees from West Chester University in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting. 

Brenten enjoys his position as the Performing Arts Associate at Friends Home in Kennett, the Tenor Section Leader for the Brandywine Valley Chorale, a tenor with the classical ensemble Vox Amadeus, a voice teacher at Linville Hill Christian School, and the Music/Choir Director at Grace UMC in Millersville.
